Kristina is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the supervision of Sarah Balint-Bravo, M.Ed, LPC-S, RPT-S, NCC. She earned her Master of Science degree in Counseling from Southern Methodist University. She was chosen to serve as Clinic Intern at the SMU Center for Family Counseling where she worked with children, adolescents, adults, parents and groups. Kristina was recognized with the SMU Emerging Leader Award in association with the North Texas Chapter of the Association for Play Therapy. She has received specialized training in play therapy, activity therapy, therapeutic parenting, group counseling and addiction.
Kristina approaches counseling by viewing individuals holistically, knowing that each person’s story is unique. She strives to provide a warm, accepting environment that allows clients to feel safe, heard and understood. Her passion lies in developing a collaborative therapeutic relationship that allows each individual to achieve their innate capacity for positive growth. Kristina works with children, adolescents and adults experiencing a variety of challenges, including anxiety, depression and learning differences.
Prior to her career in counseling, Kristina worked in Employee Relations and Training. She earned her undergraduate degree in Spanish from Austin College. Kristina resides in Dallas with her husband and two kids. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, practicing yoga and cooking.
